Agustina Ros

Jennifer Merchant

The versatility of glass enables Ros to explore old and new techniques which gives her a variety of starting points.

Blowing creates limitless opportunities as extreme heat and cooling effects liquify and then harden the glass. Natural transparency reveals ambient colors and the addition of colored pieces of glass melt and swirl with only partial control of the end result.

Once a shape has fixed, the colors continue to be reflective of what is included in the process and what is near the jewel. The continual changes, the reflective and shiny surface, create lively works that are infinitely interesting and strong.

Glass which has been used for both practical and decorative purposes for millennia is new in Ros’s hands.
